Career orientation up close – Jass as a partner in the search for a professional home

Four students from the district, in grades 8–10, enjoyed a special week of vacation at the Adolf Jass paper mill in Schwarza. Over five exciting days, Max Häuser, Raphael Püschel, Fabian Schübel, and Till Tränckner gained insights into the fascinating world of state-of-the-art paper production and were able to gain in-depth insights into the professional fields of paper manufacturing, electrical engineering, logistics, mechanics, and the spare parts warehouse. In addition to learning about the respective job profiles in theory, the focus was on gaining practical experience of the work activities. Among other things, they made electric tea lights, sawed and filed puzzle cubes, and prepared spare parts for shipping. They also learned about the exciting tasks involved in logistics in a large industrial company by operating state-of-the-art forklifts.

The career orientation of our four interns was supplemented by intensive job application training and rounded off with an afternoon for parents over coffee and cake. It was a pleasure to get to know these four friendly young people and to accompany them a little way on their first steps into their professional future. And who knows? … whether as industrial mechanics, electronics technicians for industrial engineering, warehouse logistics specialists, paper technologists, or even as dual students: maybe they will find their professional home at Jass. They are very welcome here!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again for the opportunity for my son Raphael to complete an internship at your company from October 9, 2023, to October 13, 2023, and for the way in which it was organized. It is not a given that young people get to learn about different professions within a company. The young people were able to gain a lot of experience, had great experiences every day, and enjoyed the internship week very much.
