Last Tuesday, Dr. Marietta Jass-Teichmann (Managing Partner, Jass) and Frank Gumbinger (Commercial Director, Jass) welcomed U.S. Consul General Norman Thatcher Scharpf to their Fulda site.
The joint aim of the meeting was to discuss decarbonization. Scharpf wanted to learn firsthand how a company with high energy requirements due to its production processes is dealing with the rise in energy prices.
Dr. Marietta Jass-Teichmann and Frank Gumbinger also presented Jass's decarbonization strategy and explained how the company is addressing the challenge of transforming itself to become climate neutral. The importance of the region's hydrogen initiative was also discussed.
The US Consul General emphasized: “The US needs an industrially strong Germany and Europe in order to have a strong partner. Renewable energies play an important role in maintaining this industrial strength.”
