Social commitment of the Jass trainees – new sports facility for the “Jeder ist anders” (Everyone is different) club in Fulda

As part of a social project, trainees from the Jass company worked with members of the association “Jeder ist anders – Inklusionssport Fulda e.V.” (Everyone is different – Fulda inclusive sports association) and other helpers to expand the clubhouse at Antonius Park. On July 19, 2022, the association invited everyone involved to a barbecue at the new sports facility as a thank you. The association's board was delighted to receive a donation of €3,000 towards the renovation costs, which was presented personally by managing director Dr. Marietta Jass-Teichmann.

The association “Jeder ist anders” (Everyone is different) has set itself the task of building bridges for other sports clubs. In addition to the number of members, the number of cooperation partners is also growing. To this end, it was necessary to enlarge the existing clubhouse so that members could continue to meet after training sessions.

The joint side change project with the Jass company had exactly that as its goal: the renovation of the clubhouse and the associated expansion of the clubhouse. The joint work on the clubhouse between the club members and trainees from the Jass company was intended not only to carry out the manual work, but above all to promote interaction. Teamwork and working on an equal footing were required when dismantling the old kitchen, prying open the walls, and plastering the ceilings and walls. The joint project broke down barriers and highlighted the talents of people with disabilities.

"It is important to us that our trainees do something for society during their training period and open their eyes to it. A project like this should be firmly anchored in the training plan so that all of our trainees participate in it. We'd love to come back!" said Dr. Jass-Teichmann. With these words, the Jass managing director once again emphasized the importance of social engagement in today's society and promised further assistance in completing the clubhouse.

Training manager Jan Möller added that inclusion is not an everyday topic. “We were pleasantly surprised at how well it worked in this diverse group. Everyone worked together respectfully and supported each other.”

Finally, Christian Strunz, an employee with a disability at antonius and a member of the association's board, added: “It was a lot of fun working with you and we look forward to seeing you again soon!”
